Cute, but won't go the distance.  I expected the quality of the wood to be better for the price, but it's a cute drum set. I bought it for my one year old who's taken to the drums pretty naturally since he was 9 months old. Due to the quality, I'm not expecting this thing to last a very long time, but it should serve its purpose for us. I haven't had trouble with the cymbal coming off yet like a lot of reviewers have, but it's easy to see why this happens. The thing is held together only with a bit of tension on a string. So far, the tension is sufficient to keep it on, but (again) I don't expect this thing to go the distance. I love that it's small enough for my one year old (I would personally skip it for kids over two as it doesn't seem that it would stay together if someone stronger was banging on it). And I like that it's wood and not obnoxious bright plastic, but the quality of said wood needs to be improved or the product should go down in price.

Excellent!  My husband and I looked everywhere for the perfect drum set for our nearly 2 year old son for Christmas and finally settled on this one. It was absolutely the right choice. He sat down and began banging on it before we could even get it completely unwrapped. It is the perfect size for him. The noise it makes is not overwhelming or offensive in any way. And we really love that it is made of wood and neither plastic nor electronic! Our only complaint is that the wood block that holds the cymbal kept falling over so we had to super glue it in place. Otherwise, perfection! Our little guy loves it!

After searching through Youtube which battery to buy for a child of 2 years I discovered that it was the best rated. So I bought it.
The day we tried it on her birthday, we all were surprised by her sound, which is very pleasant to the ear. The child enjoys touching her, almost always kneeling in front of her and sometimes sitting. The size is the least, I like to touch it almost more than my son because the feeling when touching it is very pleasant, even when it hits it with full force. The materials are of very good quality, all ecofriendly and very well thought out at the level of finishes. According to the manual, the material of the drums is natural latex. Let's see how he can resist the passing of years. In 2 weeks that makes us have it, it is perfect (logical, right?). Bottom line: I made a good purchase because it is a good product.

A wonder, quality and sound.  My son loved it. The sound is very pleasant, the construction in wood is a score. It has a very good size for a 3 year old boy. Super easy to assemble. I recommend it!!

Love these drums  We bought this to replace the earlier version we had of this drum. I like this design better because the way the drums are attached they don't pop off like the old design. The cymbal stick is removable on this and has a slit cut down the side where a bungee cord that connects the cymbal to the drum set slides through. Sometimes while playing, the bungee cord can slide through and so the cymbal falls off the stick. We glued the cymbal stick down and put clear caulk in the slit on the side so that this doesn't happen. My son loves this set (he is now 3 and half) and I think it looks nice in his room.

Sound and quality  Aside from being a real beauty, the sound is very beautiful and nothing annoying. Other users rate the size as negative. True, a child of a year and a half (86 cm or so) should touch her crouching, but it seems to me an advantage rather than a problem, because it does not occupy too much and the child himself can transport it wherever he wants.

The battery is of very good quality, and it has good sound, but there are several cons: it is very small/short, evidentemte is for babies, but for my taste it could be a little bigger, because the one who starts to stand is dwarf (and for its price it should last a few years). The saucer is attached to the rest of the battery by a stick that disassembles very easily, I imagine it is for a safety issue, but it constantly comes out and has to be repositioned.

Okay.  Fairly pricey for what it is. My main beef is that the wood piece that holds up the cymbal falls off constantly. It’s really annoying, especially since my son learned how to do it on purpose and I’m not sure how to permanently fix this issue.

Good toy, but Unstable Cymbal  We bought this as a Christmas present for our 2.5 year old daughter. While it is important to note that she LOVES it and has played with it a lot over the past 2 months, there are a few issues with the product that I wish were better. Altogether, the product is a lot smaller than I expected. I would not expect a child past the age of 3 to really enjoy it, due to its size. However, my biggest complaint is with the cymbal. It is connected via an elastic cord and wooden rod with a slit in it to fit the cord. EVERY time my daughter plays with it, the cymbal falls off and it is a little too complicated for her to figure out how to fix it by herself. I wish there was a more permanent way to affix the cymbal.
Again, my daughter LOVES this toy and I do not regret buying it. I just wish that it were a bit better constructed.

perfect starter kit  we just got this kit for our 17-month old daughter. our 5 year old has her own kit and the baby loved it but it was too big for her. we wanted to get her something that had a real instrument, rich percussive sound as opposed to the cheap plastic baby-kits you can find at most toy stores which sound terrible. the assembly on this was impressively simple, the whole design is genius in its simplicity. the only thing i would say is pay attention to the measurements. we got this because it was small but based on the age recommendation you could easily assume it should be bigger. realistically, this should be for 18m-3years. also, i'm planning to glue down and caulk the hi hat connection block just because it slides out pretty easily but i like that it is an option for portability if someone were planning to travel with this.

the sound on this kit is incredible. it's well tuned and pleasing, like a conga drum. using natural materials gives the instrument a very authentic, percussive sound. it's not "bangy" or irritating at all. and the sticks that come with it are absolutely perfect for toddler hands. my 17-month old sat and kicked out her first rhythm smoothly and she LOVES it. with the durability of the materials and the great sound, i think she's going to learn quickly and develop quite a love for music. i'm anxious now for when she's ready for her own full size (well, mini-full size) kit.

well worth the money spent, as i see this as a long term investment.

Best toy for little ones  Received this as a gift for my 6 month old son. Wasn't sure what to think about it, but set it up for him to play with (Dad is a drummer). My son LOVES it. Not so much as a drum but more as a toy to take apart and it makes fun noises. My son is now 14 months old and will actually drum or bang on it more, but the take apart option is still so fun. And anytime friends are over they all love to play with this toy. Solid construction and very kid friendly and durable. I loved it so much I ordered it as a gift for a friend's kid.
